Current Conditions
Mountain weather conditions vary considerably throughout the winter, from ferocious snowstorms to beautiful sunny weather. Alpine temperatures in Whistler in the winter can range from -30°C to above 0°C (-22°F to above 32°F) although more commonly they are between -15°C and -5°C (5°F and 23°F). There is usually at least one cold snap during the winter where temperatures can be -20°C (-4°F) and colder.
Our average annual snowfall at 5000 feet is approximately 1050 - 1200cm (420 - 480 inches). The number of sunny days vs. the number of snowy days during a winter varies greatly from one ski season to the next. A winter with near-normal snowfall (e.g. 2001/2002) will have more sunny days and fewer snowy days than a winter with near-record snowfall (e.g. 2006-2007).
